Police investigating after a woman was attacked in Aberdeen city centre have released CCTV images of a man they want to talk to.
A 28-year-old woman was assaulted on Jopp’s Lane on May 22, between 3.30am and 4am.
She suffered minor injuries, and officers are keen to track down her attacker.
The images released by the police show a man with short hair wearing a black jacket, green T-shirt and jeans heading north on George Street.
Detective Sergeant Karen Main, who is leading the inquiry, said: “I would urge anyone who has any information relating to the male depicted in the CCTV images to make contact with the police and pass on that information.”
In the days after the attack, police appealed for a man and woman who were walking a dog at the time to get in touch.
They believed the woman had spoken to the victim, but last night a police spokeswoman confirmed the pair had subsequently been contacted by the police.
She said: “Following the attack we wanted to trace a man and a woman who were walking a dog at the time.
“They have now been spoken to by the police in relation to this incident.”
Anyone with information should call 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
