VIDEO: Killer whales spotted playing around Aberdeen to Shetland ferry

People on board a boat heading from Lerwick into Aberdeen spotted an usual sight this week.

Shortly after they left the harbour a group of five whales were seen coming up for air while swimming alongside the vessel.

Alan Waddell, who was on the boat, said: “Didn’t expect to see this pod of orca whales when I was on the ferry from Lerwick to Aberdeen.

“This was just as we pulled out of the harbour.”
