Safety work is to be carried out on one of the north-east’s busiest roads at an accident blackspot.
The £147,000 project will result in the installation of new safety barriers on the A90 Aberdeen to Dundee road.
Two sets of barriers will be put in place on the northbound carriageway, between the A937 Laurencekirk and Mill of Conveth junctions.
Parts of the central reservation will also be upgraded as part of the project.
In order to ensure the safety of workers and motorists, lane closures will be put in place from Monday while the work is being carried out.
The installation, which is being carried out by Bear Scotland, is expected to take about three weeks.
Andy Thompson, Bear’s north-east representative, said: “Safety is a top priority for both Bear Scotland and Transport Scotland and the delivery of this scheme is part of our commitment to ongoing improvement across our network.
“Whilst the A90 will remain open while we install the new safety barriers, we’d ask motorists to be aware of the traffic management in place and check Traffic Scotland for journey information in advance.”
