Three people have died after a major incident at a block of flats in Aberdeen.
Dozens of police officers rushed to the scene in the Tillydrone area of the city.
Police confirmed three people had died in the incident.
However, a spokesperson denied an officer was amongst the dead, despite widespread reports on social media claiming a member of the police had fallen from a window in the flats.
Officers have sent up a blue tent outside Donside Court, and forensic teams have arrived at the scene.
A police spokeswoman said: “Police Scotland in Aberdeen can confirm they are currently dealing with a serious incident in the Tillydrone area.
“Officers were called to a report of a disturbance within a domestic flat in the Donside Court area at approximately 8.15pm.
“Police and ambulance attended at the scene where there were thought to be three seriously injured people.
“Inquiries are at a very early stage but it is believed the incident is contained and there is no wider threat to the community.”
