VIDEO: Slow-motion footage captures every detail of stunning north-east lightning storm

Last night’s incredible lightning storm has been captured in stunning detail by a north-east camera man using slow-motion photography.

Rip-roaring thunder and dramatic bolts of fork lightning could be seen illuminating the skies over Stonehaven from around 4am this morning.

In this amazing footage, taken by photographer Gavin Park, lightning can be seen bursting over the early morning sky, no doubt waking up countless residents.

Thousands of people took to social media posting video and pictures of the tropical storm which followed a day of record breaking temperatures across Scotland.
