Mobile phone users in the north-east have been left unable to make calls or receive text messages since yesterday morning.
Residents signed up with Vodafone have reported difficulties using their mobile phones in areas of Aberdeenshire, with many saying that their service has been down since a lightning storm early on Wednesday.
A spokesman for Vodafone confirmed that they are experiencing an isolated problem in the area.
They said: “We have a transmission fault on one of our masts servicing the area and some customer will be experiencing problems.
“We’re sorry for this inconvenience.
“Engineers are due on site to carry out an investigation and we hope to get the site up and running shortly.”
It is not known how long the problem will take to rectify.
