A man has appeared in court, charged with attempted murder, following a disturbance near an Aberdeen golf club.
Officers found a man seriously injured on Golf Road, near to Pittodrie, at around 6am on Wednesday.
They had been called to the scene after receiving reports of an incident, close to Bon Accord Golf Club.
As a result, the 44-year-old was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, where his conditions was later described as stable.
Yesterday, Alistair Barrington Thompson appeared at the city’s sheriff court charged with carrying out an assault to severe injury and causing the man permanent disfigurement.
The Crown claim that the attack was attempted murder.
Thompson, of Aberdeen, made no plea to the charge when he appeared in private before Sheriff Alison Stirling.
The 43-year-old was remanded in custody and is expected to appear in court again next week.
Following the incident, police cordoned off the scene of a bar which looks out on to Kings Links golf course, and the cordon remained in place throughout the day.
