Customers at a north-east supermarket were left stunned after a brawl broke out in the fruit and veg aisle.
Police were called to the Huntly branch of Tesco shortly after 7pm after receiving reports of a fight involving a customer and two members of staff.
A customer who witnessed the incident has revealed how the scene unfolded.
The man, who did not want to be named, told the Evening Express: “I couldn’t believe it when they started fighting in the fruit aisle.
“It was quite shocking as there were families with children standing around and watching.
“One of the bosses at the store was trying to calm things down and was shouting at the staff involved.”
The two workers – an employee and a contractor – have been suspended and bosses have launched an investigation into the incident.
No one has yet been charged.
A spokesman for Tesco confirmed they are looking into the incident, saying: “We are investigating an incident at our Huntly store.
“As part of our inquiry, a contractor and a colleague have been suspended.”
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “I can confirm we were called at 7.15pm on Sunday to Tesco in Huntly following a disturbance.
“Inquiries are still ongoing in relation to the incident.”
