Police have renewed their appeal to motorists to adhere to the speed restrictions in place around the various Aberdeen bypass construction sites.
Officers said although the majority of drivers are obeying the law, there is a small minority who are putting themselves and others at risk by openly disregarding the temporary speed limits.
Inspector Jon Barron, of the roads policing unit, said: “This will not be tolerated – our patrols and checks will continue to be carried out.
“Many vehicles have been recorded at speeds considerably in excess of the posted restrictions.
“Not only is this extremely disappointing, but this behaviour is clearly dangerous.
“Fortunately no-one has been injured and hopefully this will continue to be the case.
“I would urge motorists to show some patience and consideration for other road users and those working in close proximity to the road.”
He added that all road users had a part to play while the works were carried out, stressing that the construction team at the side of the road were “extremely vulnerable”.
“Where you see speed restrictions signs, where you see a coned area, where you see works vehicles, where there are temporary traffic signals or a temporary road surface, please, please slow down,” he said.
