A landlord has seen enquiries go through the roof for his Aberdeenshire flat after listing it as a Pokemon Go hotspot.
Eric Milne, 32, from Westhill, put up an advert on the website Gumtree looking for tenants for his one-bedroom flat in Ferryhill – adding a Pokemon gym can be accessed from the sofa.
Gamers in Aberdeenshire have become captivated by the worldwide hit game and players seem keen to live in the thick of the action.
The ‘gym’ allows players to do battle with the pokemon and attempt to take over augmented reality sites for their team.
Eric told the Evening Express: “I did it as a laugh really thinking that it might get me a few more hits on Gumtree, and it has actually.
“There’s a converted church up the road and if you sit down in the living room you can get access to the gym, you don’t even have to leave your house.
“There was somebody last night that texted me specificially saying they’d like to see the flat with the Pokemon gym. We’ve set up an appointment.
“I was just looking for something to make the property stand out a bit more. It seems to have done the trick.”
“I’ve had four times as many hits on Gumtree from the previous advert I put up for the flat, just by putting Pokemon in the title.”
Eric works in the oil industry and has had the buy-to-let property for nine years.
