An Aberdeenshire man has been banned from the roads after getting behind the wheel of his car whilst more than three times the drink drive limit.
Kevin Cameron, of Kintore, was disqualified from driving for 12 months after being found with 77micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath at 12.15am on July 7. The legal limit is 22mcg.
The 25-year-old also admitted being in possession of a “small” amount of class-B drug, ketamine, after police stopped him.
However, he was admonished of this charge by Sheriff Margaret Hodge.
Officers found Cameron, of 27 Sunnyside View, Kintore, behind the wheel of his silver Vauxhall Corsa on the town’s Gauchhill Road.
Fiscal depute, Alan Townsend, said: “Officers saw silver Vauxhall Corsa being driven at the locus. He gave us a positive breath test at the police station of 77mcg per 100ml of breath.”
Sheriff Hodge fined Cameron £400 and instructed him to undertake a drink driving rehabilitation course.
