North-east bicycle thief admits stealing from Aberdeen business

An Aberdeen man has admitted a string of bicycle thefts.
Andrew Reid targeted Talisman Energy, Holburn Street twice in two days last October, each time fleeing with a bike.
He also attempted to take another bike from Aberdeen Royal Infirmary’s eye clinic on Westburn Road on May 31 this year, while acting another person who remains unknown to the Crown.
Reid also struck at the James Hutton Institute on Macaulay Drive, breaking into a locked bicycle hut with “intent to steal” on June 14. Again, he was acting with another.
The 23-year-old admitted the offences when he appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday.
Sentencing was deferred for background reports.
