One woman has been airlifted to hospital and another injured after a two-vehicle crash on a notorious north-east road.
The incident, involving a black Volkswagen Golf and a silver Vauxhall Corsa, occurred on the A947 road, north of Turriff, at Plaidy, at 9am.
Emergency services are at the scene of the crash, with two appliances, from Banff and Macduff, and nine firefighters attempting to free a woman from her car.
Meanwhile, another woman in her 20s has now been taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by road ambulance.
It is not clear whether either driver has been seriously injured as a result of the collision.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident on the same road, a lorry was involved in a minor accident at about 10am.
The vehicle veered off the road, after it came round a corner, at its section between Newmachar and St Katherine’s.
No one was injured.
UPDATE: The road has now been reopened.
