A lifeboat was launched at Peterhead earlier this evening to assist a man in the water.
The RNLI Peterhead lifeboat was called to launch by Aberdeen Coastguard at 9.10pm to assist in the recovery of a person in the sea in the harbour of refuge.
Two lifeboat crewmen used the daughter Y boat to intercept the casualty and escorted him to the shore to be met by the police and coastguard.
The lifeboat was then stood down and returned to its berth at 9.38pm.
A spokeswoman from the coastguard said: “The man was in the water and was brought back to shore.
“He had no injuries.”
