Police officers have urged people planning to attend the Tarland show this weekend to have fun, enjoy the day, but most importantly stay safe.
The popular marquee dance will be held at the show park in Tarland, Aberdeenshire, on Saturday night and officers will be in attendance throughout to support the organisers.
Inspector Rob Sturton, of the divisional alcohol and violence reduction unit, said: “This summer has seen several successful shows and events including those at Oldmeldrum, Banchory, Turriff and Aboyne.
“I would like to thank the communities who have entered into the spirit of these occasions and taken responsibility for their behaviour.
“These events have been largely untroubled by anti-social incidents and violence, and our aim is to ensure this weekend is no different.
“Occasionally, a very small minority spoil the fun for others and I want these people to know in advance we will not take drunken, violent or anti-social behaviour lightly.
“If you are intent on engaging in unwanted behaviour and ruining what should be a great event for all in attendance, you will be dealt with swiftly and robustly.
“This may include a ban on visiting local licensed premises or future shows. You may even end up in court.
“We want everybody to enjoy the occasion, socialise with friends and family and enjoy the event hospitality.
“So please don’t cause trouble for yourself or anyone else by drinking to excess and making poor choices.”
