All pupils and staff at an Aberdeenshire school have been sent home after a “strange smell” was reported.
Aboyne Academy is currently shut off to all pupils and staff while the emergency services attend the incident.
Firefighters were called to the scene shortly after 10.40am, following reports of an alarming odour coming from a cupboard used to store cleaning products.
Five fire appliances are at the scene as well as a specialised unit used by fire teams to detect, identify and monitor dangerous substances.
The fire units were dispatched from Ballater, Banchory, Aboyne, Central Station in Aberdeen and North Anderson Drive.
