A cancer support charity and a north-east law firm have enjoyed a day of celebration following a fundraising initiative.
Friends of Anchor visited the offices of Stronachs on Tuesday to pass on thanks for the firm’s two-year commitment to fundraise for the charity.
The company has raised more than £25,000, which will got towards Friends of Anchor’s newly launched ‘Anchored Together’ appeal.
The team has run, cycled, completed obstacle courses, baked and dressed up to raise the cash.
Carol Crowther, chairwoman of Stronachs’ social and charities committee, said: “We originally set ourselves a target of £20,000, so to have hit a quarter century is fantastic.
“It took a lot of hard work and commitment on the part of a lot of people and a lot of support from our business and personal contacts but it’s been a great privilege to support Friends of Anchor in the excellent work it does to help those affected by cancer throughout the north-east.”
Sarah-Jane Hogg, fundraising and development director, said: “We have really enjoyed working with Carol and the team.
“The personal commitment so many have brought to raising awareness and funds for the cause is testament to the company’s support for local causes in the community.”
