Network Rail Scotland has released a video that reveals the newly double-tracked railyway between Aberdeen and Inverurie.
Viewers can also catch a glimpse of the new Kintore station and the Don viaduct in the timelapse footage.
Earlier this year Network Rail carried out significant improvements on the line between Aberdeen and Inverness to increase the capacity and upgrade the service.
The rail authority had closed sections of the line between the two cities as part of a £300million project to dual the track.
