A 29-year-old man has appeared in court accused of drink-driving following a crash in Aberdeen that killed a pensioner and left a teenager seriously injured.
Martin Henderson is facing six charges in connection with the incident on Inverurie Road in Bucksburn on Saturday evening.
They include death by dangerous driving, failing to stop for police and failing to tell officers his identity.
He is also accused of attempting to pervert the course of justice.
Henderson, from Inverurie, appeared in private at Aberdeen Sheriff Court where he made no plea and was released on bail.
Police were forced to shut a stretch of Inverurie Road through until 2pm on Sunday while forensics teams gathered evidence to understand the circumstances surrounding the crash.
A 70-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, while an 18-year-old woman was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary to be treated for serious injuries.
Henderson will make a second appearance at court later this month.
