A man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder in relation to an incident in Aberdeen over the weekend.
Steven Duthart, 19, was arrested in connection with a serious assault on Wellington Road at around 3am on Sunday.
A 24-year-old was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary to be treated for his injuries.
Police described them as non-life-threatening.
Duthart, whose address was given as Aberdeen, made no plea when he appeared from custody at Aberdeen Sheriff Court.
He is facing two charges of assault to severe injury, permanent impairment and attempted murder and of being in possession of a knife.
The 19-year old was committed for further examination and remanded in custody.
Road to be closed for nine hours
As a result of the incident, Wellington Road remained shut for more than nine hours.
A large area was taped off, including the entrance to the Lidl and some bushes behind Costa Coffee.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 19-year-old man has been charged after officers were called to a report that a man had been seriously assaulted on Wellington Road, Aberdeen, around 3am on Sunday, September 26.
“A 24-year-old man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with a serious injury.”
