Emergency services are dealing with a two car-crash on the A90 near Portlethen.
A police spokeswoman said the accident, involving a silver VW Golf and a beige Citroen C3 happened between Portlethen and the Charleston flyover just before 3.50pm.
It is not yet known whether anybody has been hurt.
But the police spokeswoman said it was not thought that anyone had been seriously injured.
She said: “The people walked out of the vehicles and they are being checked by paramedics.”
She added that the road was closed as the vehicles and debris were blocking both carriageways, with traffic being diverted via Cove.
An ambulance service spokeswoman said they had two ambulances at the scene, but could not provide any information of casualties at this stage.
And a fire and rescue service spokeswoman said three appliances from Aberdeen attended and firefighters made the vehicles safe.
