Staff at the Matalan store in Aberdeen raised more than £3,000 for cancer support charity Maggie’s during a year of fundraising.
The team raised donations through quiz nights, a signed Barcelona football shirt raffle, dress up days and a sponsored beach walk, which meant they were able to exceed their initial target.
The group set out to raise as much as possible after their colleague Margaret Charlish’s family received support from the Maggie’s centre at Foresterhill.
Store manager Fiona Wilson said: “Maggie’s is a wonderful charity and Margaret’s experience with the centre and its support touched us all.
“Our fantastic team wanted to give some support back and loved coming up with new fundraising ideas – their efforts have been overwhelming.”
The Aberdeen Maggie’s centre was opened by golf legend Colin Montgomerie following a £3million appeal run in partnership with the Press and Journal.
