Police are not treating the death of a man in Aberdeenshire as suspicious, the force confirmed today.
A cordon was put in place at the Burn of Turriff, near the Haughs, after a body was found shortly after 9am on Sunday.
Two police vans remained at the scene for most of the day while inquiries were carried out to establish what happened to the man.
The death was initially treated as “unexplained”.
A spokeswoman said: “Police Scotland can confirm that a body of a man was discovered at the Burn of Turriff, Aberdeenshire around 9.10am on Sunday 17 November, 2019.
“The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
