Scotland’s wild weather throughout the past few days seems to have paid off for our largest ski resort.
These images show how Glenshee Ski Centre, near Braemar, went from being almost bone dry last week to being coated with huge amounts of fresh powder.
A statement released by the centre said they were currently experiencing “perfect January conditions” with “loads of fresh powder snow on the east facing slopes”.
They are now awaiting for the A93 Braemar to Blairgowrie road to open to allow skiers and snowboarders to hit the slops.
They expect the road to be completely clear within the next 10 to 15 minutes.
They added: “We are ready to go as soon as the roads are cleared.”
Four of their lifts will be open today, with more expected to open this weekend.
A Met Office yellow “be aware” warning for snow and ice is still in place for the north-east, with more snow fall expected in western Aberdeenshire this weekend.
