A woman has admitted defrauding an Aberdeenshire hotel of thousands of pounds.
Michelle Cobban appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday and pleaded guilty to forming a fraudulent scheme over almost a month whilst working at The Huntly Hotel, Huntly.
The 28-year-old used a credit card machine to make seven false refunds to herself totaling £4,600.
The offence took place between April 20 and May 15, 2013.
In court papers it stated she got the money by crediting false refund transactions to a debit card in her name.
The charge also stated that she did so knowing no sales had been made to customers and that the refund transactions were false.
Cobban’s defence agent Iain McGregor asked for sentencing to be deferred for a background report to be carried out into her character.
Cobban, of 8 Sycamore Place, Huntly, will appear again in court next month.
