An Aberdeenshire post office is on the move.
The Ballater Post Office will relocate to the Co-op in Golf Road on Thursday, April 2 – a move that will bring 66 extra hours of postal service to locals.
The current branch in Netherley Road will shut its doors for good on Wednesday, April 1.
The Post Office will be available during the shop’s opening hours which are from 7am to 11pm every day, including Saturday and Sunday.
Co-op’s Ballater store manager, Alan Henderson, said “As a community retailer, we are committed to playing an active role in local life, embracing the area’s community spirit. We are always looking for ways to make life easier for our customers and the additional Post Office services will be of great benefit to the local community.”
Post Office regional manager, Sheila McCann, said the move was part of a “modernisation” of services across Scotland as a whole.
She added: “We are confident that this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs.
“We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.”
