Less than a third of consumers plan to shop online for bargains over Black Friday (27 November), according to a new survey.
According to a survey conducted for global information security and risk management company, NTT Com Security less than a quarter (23 per cent) will do ’some’ shopping online, while just 7 per cent will do ’most’ or ’all’ of it online.
Black Friday was brought to the UK by Amazon five years ago.
By 2014, UK shoppers spent £1million every three minutes on Black Friday, resulting in total sales of over £800 million that day and a jump in store traffic of 23 per cent.
However that doesn’t mean things will be any easier for the corporate elves at Amazon.com

Black Friday in 2014 overtook Cyber Monday as Amazon.co.uks busiest day for the first time. On that day Amazon.co.uk sold more than 5.5m items at a rate of 64 items per second.
