A fall-out between friends led to an Inverness man being arrested after he smashed his pal’s window and destroyed his own TV.
Inverness Sheriff Court was told that 22-year-old Christopher Stewart used two dumbells and a bottle to break Liam Bruton’s window following a dispute on the doorstep of his Balloan Road home.
After punching his friend and neighbour on the mouth, Stewart returned shouting and swearing to his own home a few doors away on March 19.
Police were called and found Stewart flailing his arms about in his garden and causing a disturbance, said fiscal depute Michelle Molley.
She added: “The officers took him inside to try and calm him down but he picked up a candle holder and smashed his TV screen with it.
“The constables were showered with glass as a result.”
Stewart admitted wilful and reckless conduct and assault and was ordered to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work.
