A 22-year-old man broke glass panes in the door and window of an Inverness pub as he was being thrown out.
Inverness Sheriff Court heard that agricultural worker Dale MacLean, of Cameron Road in Nairn, had become upset after his friend was told to leave the Exchange in Academy Street on December 18 last year.
The court was told MacLean, who caused more than £800 of damage, ran away but CCTV traced him to nearby Railway Terrace where he was arrested.
Fiscal depute Allison Wylie said: “But as he was being put in the police van, he kicked one of the constables on the shin. There was no injury.”
Defending, Natalie Bruce said her client was on a works night out and did not remember much about the incident.
MacLean was fined a total of £800.
