A Conon Bridge man who was reported missing by his partner was caught over the drink drive limit while in charge of his car.
Bricklater Howard Burley, of Windsor Place, admitted the offence, was fined £300 and disqualified from driving for three months at Inverness Sheriff Court yesterday.
The court was told that police made three returns visits to his home as they searched for him on March 4 before finding him sitting in his car in his driveway.
A breath test showed he was almost four times the legal limit.
Defending, Rory Gowans said: “There was an argument in the house and he foolishly got in his car to cool off before going home.”
