The court was told Mathieson shouted and swore at three customers before swinging a bag of food at them. Police saw the incident but Mathieson made off, before being found hiding behind a wall in the Castle grounds. He struggled with police and pushed officers towards a wall with a 5ft drop on to the road, Sheriff Margaret Neilson heard. Defending, Rory Gowans said: “He had too much to drink and it is all pretty much a blur. But he recalls a petty argument with the group beforehand.” Mathieson will re-appear on October 27.
