Man who tried to headbutt police officer and spat at another fined

A man who walked drunk down the middle of an Inverness road shouting he hated Scotland and wanted to kill himself was fined a total of £800 yesterday.

Edgaras Mikaulauskas, of Stephen’s Brae, admitted a breach of the peace, attempting to head butt one police constable and spitting towards another officer when they arrested him on August 13 this year.

Defence lawyer Eilidh Macdonald said her 25 year old client was drunk and couldn’t remember much about the incident.

“He spent two nights in custody, has never been in court before and is very embarrassed by this.” she added.
