A motorist may have his car confiscated after committing three serious road traffic offences in a matter of days.
Piatek Tomasz had been caught drink driving twice in four days and yesterday at Inverness Sheriff Court he appeared from custody and also admitted driving while disqualified.
Sheriff Margaret Neilson deferred sentence on October 26 for a background report and will decide the fate of his £1,000 vehicle then.
Tomasz was released on bail but the Sheriff said he could still face a jail term.
Fiscal Geoff Main told the court Tomasz was seen by police driving at 12.30am on August 26.
They followed him to his home at Springfield Gardens.
“When he got out of the car to walk to his flat, he appeared unsteady on his feet.” said Mr Main
He was arrested and a breath test showed the 40 year old was more than three times the legal limit.
It was subsequently confirmed he had been disqualified on August 22, again for drink driving.
Defending, Clare Russell said the father of four had been out with a friend and believed his friend would drive the vehicle. “He didn’t and Tomasz made a stupid decision to drive back to his property himself.” she added.
