ByReporter
A teenager who was under the influence of ecstasy and alcohol punched a policeman in the neck after being taken to an Inverness police station.
But 18 year old first offender Reece Taylor of Bruce Gardens was given a chance by Sheriff Chris Dickson to keep out of trouble after he deferred sentence for good behaviour until July 20 next year.
Taylor admitted possessing the class C drug and the police assault which occurred on May 14 this year after he was arrested by police following an incident in Church Street.
Defending, Patrick O’Dea said the youngster had been out celebrating his birthday. “Someone gave him the ecstasy and he stupidly took them.”
