But 45 year old Timothy Arnold didn’t make it, crashed the vehicle which ended up squint on the road, Inverness Sheriff Court heard yesterday. Arnold, of School Road, West Walton, Wisbech, admitted driving with excess alcohol on September 13 and sentence was deferred for a background report. Defence agent Laurajane Macnaughton said: “He is a carer for his elderly parents and had come to the area for a walking holiday. “He stayed in a cottage and spent a few days drinking alcohol. He wants to apologise for his reckless behaviour. “He knows the dangers he posed and has not drank since.” Arnold was fined £1,000 and banned from driving for 16 months.
