A Strathpeffer man who fell out with the woman next door slashed her car tyres with a Stanley knife, Inverness Sheriff Court heard yesterday.
But Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood was told that the pair had since made up and “relations are quite civil”, defence solicitor Clare Russell said.
Michael Macarthur, who now lives in Inverness, admitted wilfully damaging three tyres outside an address in Ulladale Crescent on May 3 with a knife.
Depute fiscal David Morton said that Macarthur had since paid for replacement tyres.
Miss Russell said 43-year-old Macarthur had since moved to Baron Taylor’s Street in Inverness.
She added: “The complainer was his neighbour and he removed himself to avoid contact. But I understand relations are quite civil now.”
Sheriff Fleetwood noted that the offence occurred while Macarthur was awaiting sentence on another charge of willful damage where he had been ordered to pay £650 to Albyn Housing.
But the court heard nothing had been paid so far to repair the property.
Sheriff Fleetwood said he could see no point imposing a financial penalty if Macarthur was not willing to comply with court orders.
He deferred sentence until November 24 for a background report.
