A 19-year-old youth who struck a schoolboy with a snowball was fined £300 at Inverness Sheriff Court yesterday.
Robert Howoruszko, of Woodlands Drive, Milton, admitted the assault on the 14-year-old at Castle Avenue in Invergordon on January 15 this year.
Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood was told by depute fiscal Roderick Urquhart a group of youngsters were walking home from school behind Ross Sutherland Rugby Club when one of them was spat upon and hit by a snowball.
Defending, Alison Foggo said Howoruszko worked at a recycling centre in Evanton and had received a text from his girlfriend claiming she was being bullied and harassed by a group of schoolboys.
“He accepts he flew off the handle,” Ms Foggo said.
