The head of a notorious “family from hell” has been cleared of threatening her own daughter.
Anne Graham appeared at Peterhead Sheriff Court yesterday, accused of making abusive phone calls to daughter, Sharon.
The 57-year-old was alleged to have made repeated threatening calls from her West Road home in Fraserburgh on February 12 this year.
Graham’s son-in-law, Paul Robinson, was also in the dock accused of driving dangerously on the same day.
The 42-year-old was said to have driven his 2.5 litre Ford Focus towards another vehicle, causing the driver to take evasive action.
But both were acquitted when Graham’s daughter said she could not recall any details about the alleged incidents – because her head was “all over the place”.
She told the court that in the same week as the alleged incidents happened, police had finally charged someone with the murder of her father, Gordon, who died in a fire nearly 20 years.
And Ms Graham, 37, insisted her relationship with her mother was “good”.
Asked if she had called the police at any time in February, Ms Graham said: “Not that I can recall.
“I don’t remember what I was doing [that day].
“I was in the early stages of pregnancy and in the same week someone had been charged with my dad’s murder.
“My head was all over the place.”
Fiscal depute Ruaridh McAllister dropped the charges against the pair.
Mr Graham died in 1998 when a fire broke out at his High Street flat.
It was originally thought that the blaze was an accident, but the case was reopened in 2009.
Fraserburgh man Barry Henderson was charged with his murder earlier this year.
He appeared in court on February 4 and made no plea before being bailed.
Dubbed the “family from the hell” by neighbours in Glenrothes, the Grahams were forced to leave Fife in 1994 following a string of complaints from residents.
The family, including children Dean, David, Heather and Sharon, lived in Aberdeen for a spell before moving to Fraserburgh.
Eldest son James also joined them after being released from a young offenders institution.
He had been sentenced to five years for knocking down former beauty queen Pauline McConnachie in a stolen car outside her home on Christmas Eve 1994.
She lost a leg as a result. He died in 2002 aged 26 following a car crash near Rosehearty.
Eighteen-year-old Dean died a year earlier.
