Louise Evans appeared at Peterhead Sheriff Court yesterday and pleaded guilty to acting in a threatening or abusive manner. The court heard the 43-year-old had picked up the knife after “intervening” during a row between her 21-year-old son, Kenneth Evans, and his partner. Evans and her son began arguing at a property in Blackhills, Peterhead, on November 2 last year. Fiscal depute Ruaridh McAllister told the court that after Evans grabbed the knife she called the police to report her son for his behaviour. “The accused picked up a small kitchen knife and presented it at Mr Evans,” Mr McAllister added. “Following this, the accused contacted the police to say her son was causing a disturbance.” When police arrived, she handed over the knife which she claimed was “for her own safety”. Sentence against Evans, of Fernhill Road, Aberdeen, has been deferred until December 13 to allow for background reports.
