A teenage driver who drove at almost twice the legal speed limit on the A96 Inverness to Nairn road was fined £500 and banned from the road for six months yesterday.
At Inverness Sheriff Court yesterday, warehouse worker Stuart Anderson, 19, of Station Road, Ardersier, admitted driving carelessly and at excessive speed between Inverness and Ardersier on November 2 this year.
Fiscal depute Ross Carvell said Anderson’s car was one of three vehicles approaching a police vehicle.
Anderson overtook the two in front and police recorded his speed at 105mph.
Defence solicitor John MacColl told the court: “He is a young man who obviously has a fair bit to learn about driving.”
