A north-east man has appeared in court accused of a string of break-ins.
Ian Thomson appeared at Peterhead Sheriff Court yesterday, charged with attempting to enter properties in the Low Street area of Banff.
The 30-year-old, who is from the town, denied the crimes and was bailed.
An intermediate diet for his trial has been set for April 10.
Thomson is alleged to have broken into and attempted to break into properties across Banff on Boxing Day.
At the time of his arrest, police thanked members of the public who had provided information and assistance.
Detective Constable Richard Cooper said: “Acquisitive crime in the Banff area is treated as a priority and I would urge any members of the community with any concerns or information to contact Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
