Shetland woman accused of brandishing knife at police officers

A 22-year-old woman has appeared in court charged with causing a disturbance and brandishing a knife at police officers at her home in the north of Lerwick.

The incident involving Claire Marie Antonio, of the town’s Grostane, is alleged to have taken place on Tuesday.

She is charged with behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting and swearing at police officers who attended her address, before throwing items around and then brandishing the knife at the officers.

The case was continued without plea until Wednesday and she was granted bail.
