A man has been charged with rape after a woman claimed she was sexually assaulted in a Moray street. Grzegorz Burzawa appeared in private at Elgin Sheriff Court yesterday following an incident in July. The 33-year-old made no plea and was released on bail. Burzawa, from Elgin, is accused of raping a woman in her 30s in Murray Street in New Elgin and also faces two further charges of sexual assault. Police launched a major investigation following an alleged attack around 10pm on July 27 last year. More than 400 people were interviewed and extensive door-to-door inquiries were carried out. People issued repeated appeals for information following the incident at the junction with Meadow Crescent and Millar Street.
