Here are four stories you may have missed from Inverness Sheriff Court this week.
1) Inverness woman struggled with police after disturbance
A 43-year-old Inverness woman who struggled with police after causing a disturbance will be sentenced in March after a background report has been prepared.
Alison Kerr, of Woodlands Place, Westhill, admitted behaving in a threatening or abusive manner on November 26.
Defence solicitor John MacColl asked Sheriff David Sutherland to call for a report, saying: “There is a substantial background here which may be best explained to the court in a background report.”
Kerr will re-appear on March 1.
2) Man threw away “package” as police went to search him
Police saw a 43-year-old Cromarty man acting suspiciously in an Inverness doorway and went to search him.
Officers then saw Kenneth Mackay, of Bayview Crescent, throw away a package which was later recovered. Inverness Sheriff Court heard yesterday that it contained small amount of cocaine and heroin.
Defence lawyer Neil Wilson told the court that his client had been clean of drugs for eight or nine months since the offence on April 22 last year.
Mackay, who pleaded guilty to two charges of illegal possession of Class A drugs, was fined £600.
3) Oil worker acted aggressively towards partner
A 40-year-old offshore oil worker who admitted acting aggressively towards his partner will be sentenced on March 28.
Sheriff David Sutherland called for a background report at Inverness Sheriff Court yesterday on Niki Wilson of Froghall Gardens, Aberdeen.
He decided not to hear the facts from fiscal depute Ross Carvel of the offence which occurred in Lomond Way on November 26.
4) Inverness man breached bail conditions by not being at house when police called
A demolition worker who was not at his bail address when police called to check that he was observing a special bail condition was fined £200 yesterday.
Jake Black, now of Telford Road, Inverness, admitted a breach of bail at the city’s Sheriff Court which occurred on July 1.
