There will be 15 prosecution witnesses at the trial of a former Glasgow policeman accused of behaving in a threatening manner at a village primary school and by waving a chainsaw with its engine running while staring at neighbours.
At a recent bail hearing at Fort William Sheriff Court for Thomas Kirsop, 76, the fiscal said,’He has blighted the lives of his neighbours for many years’.
Yesterday at the court Kirsop,of North Ballachulish, pleaded not guilty to all six charges and trial was set for March 2.
Among the charges is one that the father-of- four on May 27, 2015, at St Bride’s Primary School, Onich, bumped into neighbour Karen Wyatt and shouted abuse at her.
He is further charged on April 22 last year at St Brides he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner by standing at the school gates staring at the head teacher,Susan Kemp, and a nine-year-old boy in an intimidating manner.
On May 29 last year he is said to have swung a chain-saw while its engine was running and while he was staring directly at Karen Wyatt and other members of her family.
Defence lawyer Melrose told Sheriff Bill Taylor there would be two defence witnesses at the trial of Kirsop. But Fiscal Martine Eastwood said there would be fifteen prosecution witnesses.
