A Thurso man who admitted an assault outside a town pub was warned by a sheriff he could face a prison sentence.
Kevin Angus, 37, punched Michael Shearer causing him to fall to the ground.
The incident was witnessed by two detectives driving past Mr C’s bar in the early hours of December 27. They stopped and arrested the accused, Wick Sheriff Court was told yesterday.
Angus, of Trostan Terrace, also admitted a record which caused Sheriff Andrew Berry some concern.
He said that the list included a prison sentence for drug dealing, assault to severe injury with a piece of wood and failure to comply with bail orders and told Angus: “There is a very real possibility that you will receive a custodial sentence.”
Sentence will be passed on March 2 after the sheriff sees a background report
