A woman who embezzled nearly £23,000 from an aristocrat and his former-model wife will find out her fate next month.

Naomi Tamzin Barret – who took the cash while working for Viscount Petersham, William Stanhope, and former face of Chanel, Candida Bond – was due to be sentenced yesterday.

But the background reports were not ready, meaning the case was deferred until next month.

Barret was working for the couple’s north-east based CMG Events firm and had access to a company credit card when she stole £22,873. The offence happened between February 2015 and April last year.

The 53-year-old, of Branscome in Devon, originally denied stealing the money during spending sprees with the company’s credit card when she bought goods and services for herself, but admitted the crime when she appeared in court last month.

She will now be sentenced on March 7.

CMG Events opens up the A-listed Stanhope family home – Crimonmogate near Lonmay – for social and corporate events including weddings and garden parties.

The estate once formed part of the lands of the High Constables of Scotland and can be traced back as far as the 14th century.

The property was designed for Patrick Milne by renowned architect Archibald Simpson although both died before it was finished.

Crimonmogate was bought by Viscount Petersham in 2001. His wife Candida is a respected sculptress although is best known as a former model after she was discovered by French fashion house Chanel and featured in Vogue.
