Two north-east police officers accused of attempting to pervert the course of justice will stand trial in April.
Darren Guild, 28, and Martin Coyle, 29, were both investigated following an alleged assault in Strichen two years ago.
They are accused of handing over different pairs of shoes to the ones they were wearing on the night of the incident – August 8, 2015.
Guild, whose address was given in court papers as 169 West Road, Fraserburgh, is also facing a charge of assault and acting in a threatening and abusive manner.
Both officers are currently suspended.
They had been due to go on trial at Peterhead Sheriff Court next week but proceedings have been postponed after Guild’s lawyer John Adam revealed he had only just received CCTV footage from the night of the alleged assault.
Coyle’s lawyer, solicitor-advocate George Mathers, said he was ready to proceed to trial but supported the request for proceeding to be continued until next month.
Coyle’s address was given in court papers as c/o George Mathers & Co, 23 Adelphi, Aberdeen.
The officers are due to go on trial at Peterhead Sheriff Court on April 6.
