A man has been banned from driving after being spotted driving erratically on the A9.
John Bell was witnessed on the Inverness to Perth road near Tomatin just before Christmas, and police tracked the car to his home address in Upper Kessock Street, Inverness.
When tested, he was two-and-a-half times the legal limit.
Inverness Sheriff Court was told yesterday that it was the 56-year-old’s second similar offence.
Bell was fined £1,000 and banned from driving for two years.
But Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood said that will be reduced by six months if he successfully passes the drink drive rehabilitation course.
