Hugh Bruce, 44, of Columba Road, was arrested by police who were tipped off about “suspicious activity” in Fairfield Road on October 4 last year. Inverness Sheriff Court was told that Bruce tried to cycle away but was grabbed by an officer. A search revealed £50 worth of the drug. Defence solicitor Willie Young said his client had recently been diagnosed with a serious illness and was using the drug as a “coping mechanism”. Bruce will re-appear on April 13 after a background report has been prepared.
